This is the seventh in the series with a light green stain instead of light teal. While similar to the previous sculpture in the series, the composition differs to bring out each individual piece and a varied composition.
This sculpture is part of my first series of wood abstract wall sculptures. The wood is Baltic birch and the stain for each piece is homemade using an acrylic medium and a high pigment acrylic paint. The method I use creates brilliant colors and still allows the wood grain to be visible to a certain extent. Additionally, all attempts were made to keep the layers of the Baltic birch visible on the edges. Naturally, because of the methods I use, slight variations in color between sculptures as well as artifacts of the process exist. Both variations and artifacts are part of the art.
